ISLAND HOPPING AROUND TALICUD ISLAND AND NEARBY BEACHES
Talicud is the island facing the villa! Going out on a boat to visit some of Talicud Island’s beaches and snorkeling areas is a great way to enjoy and appreciate this part of Samal. Several boat operators offer “Island Hopping Tours”, usually for a day including a lunch onboard, snorkeling gear, and several stops at some of the nice spots around Talicud and other nearby locations. Such tours can be organized and joined from Poblacion Kaputian.

Giant Clam Sanctuary (Taklobo Tours)
This protected sanctuary in Barangay Adecor, Kaputian District, houses over 3,000 giant clams including the Tridacna Gigas, an endangered specie in the Philippines. Initiated as a partnership between Davao del Norte State College, the United Fisherfolks Organization and the LGU, visits to the sanctuary are through a community-based tourism and conservation organization and are well worth doing.
The sanctuary is accessed from the main Barangay Adecor pier, near the famous Pearl Farm Resort. Its approximately 15-20 minutes by car from Kembali Vista Villa.

Alorro/Samalan Beach, San Remegio
A nice beach in an open bay facing east in Barangay San Remegio, a 20-minute drive away from Kembali Vista Villa. Known for its clear and turquoise waters and white sand, making it a beautiful spot for swimming and snorkeling. It features rock formations at either end that are popular for cliff diving, and the waters are shallow near the shore, which is good for beginners, but deeper further out for more experienced swimmers.
The access to the beach is usually through some of the small resorts renting umbrellas or small cottages.

Pangubatan Beach
Another nice beach on the Eastern side of the island with several resorts along it. The access to the beach itself is through some of the resorts, several of which offer “day tours”. Try Swissfinity, if you eat at their restaurant ( Western/European menu), there is no entrance or other fee to access the beach.

Monfort Bat Sanctuary
The Monfort Bat Sanctuary has been the house of a large colony of over 2 million Geoffroy's Rousette Fruit Bats. They cover 75% of the ceilings and walls of their 245 ft (75 m)-long cave. The sanctuary is located in Barangay Tambo in Babak District so it makes for a good stop when travelling on the way or back from the villa. Typically, a 45 minute visit would suffice and is an interesting stop for the children and anyone interested in nature and wildlife.
